How it works

Three steps, and none of them start with a test.

1

Pick your ten minutes

Morning coffee, the train, the gap before dinner — you choose the slot and Cognora reminds you once. There is no assessment to sit and nothing to score before you start.

2

Do the short session

Three exercises: a word list to read and repeat, a pair-matching board, and a number you have to hold for a few seconds. Two or three minutes each, and you stop whenever you like.

3

Write down what matters

The name of the person you just met, where the car is, the code, the thing you promised to do. Cognora keeps the list, and the record of your sessions builds up quietly behind it.

What comes with Cognora

All of it is in the single plan. There is no higher tier and nothing to unlock later.

Word recall drill

Read a short list, let it disappear, then type back what stayed. The app tells you how many you got in that round — and nothing else about you.

Pair matching board

Twelve tiles, six pairs, one board a day. Simple to play, harder to play quickly, and finished in about ninety seconds.

Number span

A number appears, then vanishes, and you type it back. Get it right and one more digit arrives. Where you stop is where you stop — it is a game, not a test result.

The things-to-remember notebook

Names, parking spots, door codes, the title of that book. Write it in a line, search it later in a second, and stop carrying it around in your head.

A focus timer

Ten, fifteen or twenty-five quiet minutes for one task, with the minutes added to your day when the timer runs out. No leaderboard, no streak pressure.

A plain record

Sessions completed, minutes practised, days in a row. It describes what you did inside the app, and it is never presented as a measure of your memory.

Who it's for

Cognora is for adults who want a small daily habit around attention and recall, and a reliable place to note the things they would otherwise lose. It is a general wellness, entertainment and educational tool. It is not a medical product, not a cognitive assessment, and not designed for anyone being treated for a diagnosed condition.

Cognora is for adults aged 18 and over. If you are worried about memory changes in yourself or someone close to you, that is a conversation for a qualified healthcare professional — an app cannot have it with you, and this one does not pretend to.

  • Adults who want a short, repeatable daily habit rather than a long programme
  • People who are tired of writing names on their hand and losing the piece of paper
  • Anyone who wants a quiet practice with no scores compared against other people
  • People who work in noise and want one clean, timed block of attention a day
  • Anyone who prefers a plain price, no supplements, and no promises software cannot keep

Trust & transparency

Apps in this category routinely promise more than software can deliver. Here is what ours does and does not do, in one place, before you pay anything.

What Cognora does

  • Gives you three short memory exercises you can repeat every day
  • Keeps a searchable notebook of names, numbers and reminders you write yourself
  • Runs a focus timer and records the minutes you spent on it
  • Keeps a plain record of the sessions you completed inside the app
  • Explains general ideas about attention, sleep and routine in ordinary language

What Cognora does not do

  • Does not diagnose, screen for, treat, cure or prevent dementia, Alzheimer's disease or any other condition
  • Does not test, measure or assess your memory, your attention or your intelligence
  • Does not promise better memory, sharper focus, or any change in how your brain works
  • Does not sell supplements, nootropics, pills, drops or any product claiming to affect the brain
  • Does not claim clinical validation, medical endorsement or university backing, and quotes no studies

Important disclaimer

This app is designed for general wellness, entertainment and educational purposes only. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or medical condition, including dementia, Alzheimer's disease, mild cognitive impairment, attention disorders or any other cognitive or neurological condition. It is not a medical device, not a cognitive test, and not a substitute for professional care. Scores shown inside the app describe how you did in that exercise on that day and nothing more — they are not a measure of your memory, your intelligence, or your brain health. Individual experiences vary. If you are worried about your memory, your concentration or any change in thinking, please speak to a qualified healthcare professional.

Look before you pay

The whole app opens the moment you sign up

No card, no waiting list, no health questionnaire. Create an account and you land straight in the dashboard: play a round, write a note, start the focus timer, tick off the habits you chose and watch the week fill in. If it isn't for you, delete the account from Settings and nothing of yours remains.

Frequently asked questions

Direct answers about the product, the price, and its limits.

What is Cognora, in one paragraph?

Cognora is a subscription app with three short memory exercises, a searchable notebook for the things you want to remember, a focus timer, daily habit check-ins and a plain record of the sessions you completed. That is the whole product. It is a practice and organization tool intended for general wellness, entertainment and education.

Is this medical software, or a memory test?

Neither. Cognora is not a medical device, a treatment, or a diagnostic tool, and it is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease or condition, including dementia, Alzheimer's disease, mild cognitive impairment or any attention disorder. Nothing in it is validated as a cognitive assessment, and no result it shows should be read as one.

Will it improve my memory?

We do not claim that, and we would be sceptical of any app that did. What Cognora offers is a short daily routine you can repeat and a record of having done it. What that adds up to varies from person to person and depends on far more than an app can see. Individual experiences vary.

What do the scores mean?

Exactly what they say and nothing more: how many words you typed back in that round, how many moves the board took you, how many digits you held that time. They describe one exercise on one day. They are not a measure of your memory, your intelligence or your brain health, and the app never grades you.

What does it cost?

$9.49 per month, or $79 per year, which works out at about $6.58 a month. Every feature is included in both — there is no upgrade tier and nothing is sold inside the app. Prices are in U.S. dollars and any applicable tax is shown at checkout before you confirm.

How does the trial work, and how do I cancel?

New accounts get 7 days free, and we email a reminder before the trial ends. Cancel from Settings → Subscription or by emailing us. Cancelling in the trial means you are never charged; cancelling later stops the next renewal and you keep access until the period you paid for runs out. No fee, no retention script. See the Refund & Cancellation Policy.

Can I get my money back?

Yes. Email us within 30 days of a charge and we refund it in full, without asking you to justify it. The details, including app-store purchases, are in the Refund & Cancellation Policy.

Can I look inside before paying?

Yes, and we would rather you did. Creating an account takes about thirty seconds, asks for no card and no health information, and opens the whole app straight away — the three exercises, the notebook, the timer, the habits and the progress view. Nothing is hidden while you look around.

What happens to my data?

We collect your account details, what you wrote in the app, and basic technical information. We do not sell personal data and we do not hand it to advertisers. On this deployment everything you write stays in your own browser rather than on our servers, and you can export it as a file or wipe it entirely from Settings at any time. The full description is in the Privacy Policy.

Is Cognora suitable for everyone?

No, and we would rather say so plainly. Cognora is for adults aged 18 and over. It is not designed for children, and it is not designed for anyone who has been diagnosed with a cognitive or neurological condition, or who is being treated for one — in those situations a qualified healthcare professional should be guiding you, not an app.

Who makes Cognora?

Cognora is an independent software product. We are not a clinic, a laboratory or a university, we are not affiliated with any healthcare organization, and nobody here reviews users clinically or interprets results. Ask us anything about how we operate through the contact page and we will answer.
